| For the first time ever, at the Strasburg District meeting in 2006, the American Legion Post #021 Lady's Auxiliary won a trophy and a certificate as well, for all the hard work that Bridget Ragen did for the VA & R Public Relations |





Every 3rd WEDNESDAY each month, our Ladies Auxiliary Hosts Bingo at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehab home as well as serve refreshments to everyone there. Dec 2006 This month, with Christmas here, we are and have given and helped with the following Programs. On Dec. 1, 2006 and 2nd, Auxiliary Volunteers went to the VAMC Center inMartinsburg, WV . We all wrapped Christmas gifts for our veterans. They took $100.00 in gifts, and Also, on Saturday Dec. 2, 2006 after all the gifts were wrapped, we served refreshments for all our veterans.On this day, our Ladies Auxiliary were presented with a "Certificate of Appreciation" for the 60 years that the Auxiliary has been wrapping gifts. Those receiving this Certificate of Appreciation were Dorothy Herring June Miller Bridget Ragens On Dec 6, 2006, our Ladies Auxiliary attended a night of Live Entertainment, performed by Chance Bazzano, 1st Vice Commander, and Service Officer for 2007, from Post #21, during the course of the evening, we served refreshments to all the Veterans, while Chance played and sang, and also offered Karaoke to our veterans in the cafeteria. On Dec. 10th, 2006 our Auxiliary members baked cupcakes and cookies and donated $200.00 to the Children's Christmas Party hosted at American Legion Post 21. On Dec. 20, 2006, the S.A.L. Donated money to help the Ladies buy gifts for 87 Ladies and 56 Men at the Evergreen Rehab Facility. Dorothy Herring and Bridget Ragens will go on a Shopping Spree to buy Gifts for every one of them. Santa Claus will give everyone at the Nursing Home a gift, wrapped by The Ladies. Refreshments will be served as well. Donnie Herring will play music and Carols were sung to all the residents. As a note of Interest, There are 10 different Veterans From all different Eras of War Times Living at this Home as inpatients. The Auxiliary has already donated $500.00 towards the Christmas baskets for the patients residing there. |
