AMERICAN LEGION, POST # 21 ENTERTAINMENT AT
VAMC, MARTINSBURG, WV,

On August 26, 2006, Post #21 of Winchester, Virginia Sponsored a
Steak Dinner with all the Fixins'  For 130 Wounded Warriors from
Walter Reed Medical Center, Bethesda Naval Hospital, and the
Martinsburg West Virginia Veterans Hospital PRRP Program and Staff.
Total Attendance, including Volunteers Staff and Family Members, was 175.
We were Honored to have as our Special Guest The
Honorable Congressman Mr. Frank Wolf and his Wife Mrs. Caroline Wolf.
Also in Attendance, we were pleased to have
Mr. Sam Garman, American Legion 15th District Commander, and
Delegate Beverly Sherwood of Winchester, Virginia.
During the day the Troops were musically entertained by three Soloists,
Miss Rebecca Zuckerman, playing a few familiar songs and she brought a huge
Applause with her Original Material.
Mr. Jimmy Dorman, Post 21 Member, doing his articulate renditions of many popular
Johnny Cash songs to perfection..veryone really enjoyed his Performance.  
Mr. Chance Bazzano, 1st Vice Commander and Service Officer, Emcee and Program Coordinator, Post 21,
performed material from the 20,s to today and  
Mrs. Zeta Bazzano, AUX Community Chairperson and Post Webmaster, provided Karaoke.  Everyone really
enjoyed coming up on Stage and Performing.
The Steaks were Specially Ordered and Prepared by the Aberdeen Proving Grounds Commissary, Maryland,  
Meat Dept. Manager, Mr. Larry Testerman..also we were Honored to have many proud Parents accompanying
their soldiers of the Ladies Auxiliary did a wonderful service, as usual,
Preparing and Decorating the Banquet Hall to a Tee.
Mr. Frank Messer, Post Chaplain, was Head Chef and prepared the steaks to perfection, also cooking with Him
was Nelson Ritter, Board Member, Punky Boyce, Pres. of the SAL,and
Mr. Jr. Lickleider from VFW Post # 3522, Charlestown, West Virginia, who contributed his Mobile Cooking
Kitchen.  Jr did all the potatoes to a Tee.
The on station Ambulance with 3 EMS Personnel was arranged by Mr. Larry Smallwood/ Via Gary Dubrueler from
the Winchester Greenwood Fire & Rescue Station.

The Program was Coordinated from Walter Reed by
MSG. Dylan T. Gould, who did an outstanding job.
The Big and Final Word of the Day was said by one of the Wounded Soldiers himself,
I quote
" THAT WAS THE BEST MEAL WE HAVE HAD SINCE WE GOT BACK STATESIDE,
AND A SUCH A WONDERFUL DAY".
We Laughed, Relaxed, and also had the opportunity to mingle with many
Vietnam Era Veterans. Truly a Day to be Remembered.
We can't wait to come back again.
The Program concluded with everyone joining hands as Chance sang the
Lee Greenwood song "God Bless the USA"
